There are many things I dislike about being a WAHM. However, on beautiful, sunny, spring days when it could not be more beautiful outside, I love having the ability to leave my work for later and take the kiddos on an impromptu picnic.
1. Diaper Bag – My children love to go to the bathroom in public places. While the girls have started potty training, they are still in diapers a lot of the time and invariably they will need changed whenever we are out and about. I always carry diapers and I’ve become quite creative at finding locations to change them as well. My diaper bag is always stocked with snacks, wipes, and other essentials as well.
2. Drinks – I typically fill the kiddos cups from home and throw them in the diaper bag or in the Thirty-One tote I use for picnic supplies. It’s easier (and healthier too probably) than juice boxes and I don’t have to worry about spills or juice boxes squirting everywhere.
3. Picnic Blanket – I bought this one when Bo was a baby from the Land of Nod and I adore it. It’s held up very well and is durable and waterproof. I typically keep it in the bottom of the stroller, just in case when we need to pop-a-squat somewhere when we are out on a walk or at the park.
4. Squeeze Applesauce – My kids love these. They are prepackaged, don’t require refrigeration, and are super easy to grab and go. I keep a few in my diaper bag all the time for eating out and picnics.
5. Camera – How else would I capture my little cherubs smiles?
*****This is a flashback post. Summer is continuing to kick my behind and keeping me from writing as much as I would like. I was digging through my drafts this morning to find something to post and came across this gem from the spring that never made the blog.*****
